The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Cleveland Browns on Sunday 23 to 16. The game winning play was a fake tush push play with TE Mark andrews who ended up running 35 yards for the go ahead TD score. Revisiting the 1986 DOCUMENTARY: The Streets Of Baltimore | Guns & Drugs

Image
Lets take a look back at the 1986 documentary about Baltimore's teen street violence issue. Based on a number of pieces published in the Baltimore Sun by reporter Robert Hilson, who also worked for the program in the same role. Kurt Schmoke, the state attorney for Baltimore City, was among the guests. According to the most recent police data, which shows a 22% decrease in murders and a 19% decrease in non-fatal shootings year-to-date compared to 2024, Baltimore City is still dealing with the lingering shadow of teen gun violence despite a more generally encouraging decline in homicides and shootings. Programs like the Group Violence Reduction Strategy and Youth Advocate Programs have connected over 260 at-risk teens to life coaching, with a 97.7% non-recidivism rate among participants. Baltimore Ravens Still Have a Chance to Make Playoffs!

Image
The Ravens' chances of making the playoffs in 2025 are extremely low—less than 2% based on historical data, which shows that only four NFL teams have advanced after starting 1–5. A bright spot, nevertheless, is provided by a favorable schedule in the remainder of the season. Due to injuries and offensive setbacks, including quarterback Lamar Jackson missing two consecutive games, the Baltimore Ravens' 2025 season has taken a sharp turn for the worst, starting 1and 5. The odds are stacked against them statistically: only four teams since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 have advanced to the playoffs following a 1and 5 start: the 2020 Washington Football Team, the 2015 Chiefs, the 1970 Bengals, and the 2018 Colts. Throughout the more than 50 years of NFL history, that is a success percentage of only about 1.3%. There are, nonetheless, grounds for cautious optimism. The NFL's 17-game season and expanded playoff system (seven teams per conference since 2020) allow bad football t...
